(PEBBLE BEACH, Calif.) – Youth on Course the non-profit organization dedicated to opening doors, supporting dreams and transforming the lives of young people through opportunities on and off the golf course – finished its 2020 Hundred Hole Hike fundraiser surpassing $960,000 in donations, a 40% increase from last year’s event.

Hikers from across North America came together to support the organization and its mission to provide affordable access to the game for youth golfers through the physically demanding fundraiser. A total of 192 Hikers joined in from 21 states and Canada to play, while walking, more than 100 holes of golf in one day. While walking up to 30 miles and burning up to 5,000 calories through the challenge, the supporters raised enough donations to subsidize more than 192,000 rounds of golf for more than 100,000 members. The Hikers ranged from a 16-year-old YOC member to the oldest at 68.

Top AGA fundraisers this year included Georgia State Golf Association, Carolinas Golf Association, Northern California Golf Association and Wisconsin State Golf Association who all raised over $35,000 apiece.

“This year golf has experienced a significant surge in rounds, especially among our young members, which makes fundraising even more vital for our organization,” says Jeff Clark, chief development officer for Youth on Course. “The 100 Hole Hike is an incredibly challenging event and we are proud of the 192 Hikers that came together to raise a record amount to help change the lives of our members.”

The fundraising event will make a direct impact on Youth on Course members with proceeds helping provide $5 or less greens fees to more than 100,000 youth across 38 states and Canada. Members also benefit from career opportunities through its caddie and internship program and college scholarships.

Youth on Course will continue its 2020 fundraising efforts through its annual online auction which will run from Nov. 15-19. Supporters can bid on once-in-a-lifetime experiences including a round of golf and dinner at The Institute, rounds at Riviera Country Club and Baltusrol and many more bucket-list courses for golf enthusiasts. The auction also offers a one-year private golf club network membership, golf getaway packages and family-friendly events and destinations.
