COLUMBUS, Ohio – Columbus Recreation and Parks Department has partnered with Youth on Course, a national nonprofit that helps young people access life-changing opportunities through golf. This new collaboration significantly reduces the cost of playing golf for youth in Columbus, making it more accessible and inclusive than ever before.
Through the partnership, youth ages 6 to 18 can play a round of golf at select City of Columbus golf courses during specified days and times for just $5 with a Youth on Course membership, which costs $40 annually.
Five of the department’s golf courses are providing youth access to play. Check below for locations and available times:
- Airport Golf Course, 900 N. Hamilton Road, Columbus, OH 43219 – Any day after the last tee time.
- Mentel Memorial Golf Course, 6005 Alkire Road, Galloway, Ohio 43119 – Monday through Thursday from 1 p.m.-close.
- Raymond Memorial Golf Course, 3860 Trabue Road, Columbus, OH 43228 – Monday through Thursday from 1 p.m.-close.
- Turnberry Golf Course, 1145 Clubhouse Lane, Pickerington, OH 43147 – Monday through Friday from 12 p.m.-close. Weekends and holidays from 3 p.m.-close.

“Sports like the game of golf teach youth important life skills—sportsmanship, patience and discipline—that extend well beyond the course,” said Bernita A. Reese, M.S., CPRP, director of Columbus Recreation and Parks Department. “Golf also promotes physical activity and quality time outdoors. With this partnership, we’re proud to make the game more accessible to young people in Columbus.”
“Partnering with the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department marks an exciting step forward in expanding youth access to golf,” said Youth on Course CEO Adam Heieck. “We’re incredibly proud of this collaboration because we believe in golf’s ability to transform lives—building confidence, friendships, community, and creating new opportunities. We are eager to see how this partnership will inspire and positively impact the youth of greater Columbus.”
