Youth on Course member caddying for amateurs alongside pros

Youth on Course members dawned the signature white jumpsuits and enjoyed an opportunity of a lifetime caddying for amateurs alongside pros at the Barracuda Championship Pro-Am. From the first tee time to the last, members beamed with joy as they carried bags from one hole to the next–bonding, learning and experiencing the excitement of being part of a PGA Tour event.

Members arrived bright-eyed and ready to caddie at Old Greenwood, a Jack Nicklaus signature course set amongst 600 acres of towering pines just a few miles from Lake Tahoe. The field was set for their pairings which included notable pros such as Nick Dunlap, Charley Hoffman, and Youth on Course Alumni Network member Justin Suh. After check-in, members made their way to the driving range and waited patiently for their tee time and the round to begin.

“I had an amazing time caddying for the Barracuda Championship. Thank you for the time all the volunteers took to make it happen.” Ayden D.

As members completed their round they were able to keep the caddie jumpsuits and were given tickets to attend the tournament the next day with their family. One member, Max D. from Salinas, CA, was also selected to receive a PXG set and custom fitting as well as a rangefinder from Precision Pro made possible by the tournament sponsor, Barracuda Networks

This was the 4th year Youth on Course supplied caddies for the Pro-Am in what has become an unforgettable experience for our members. Relive the day along with our members in the photographs provided by the Barracuda Championship.

The tournament also offered two additional opportunities for youth golfers to get involved. The First Tee of Northern Nevada hosted Junior Golf Day on Tuesday providing young golfers the opportunity to hear from and meet with PGA Tour Pro Scott Piercy and Amateur Neil Shipley

Youth on Course was a proud sponsor and partner of the event that several members were able to also attend and enjoy.

On Saturday, 17 Youth on Course members were invited to attend Annika Sörenstam’s  “Share My Passion” Girls Golf Clinic. Each member submitted a video or letter to Annika letting them know how golf has impacted their life and their responses are priceless. This opportunity was made possible by our partnership with the Annika Foundation who shares our passion to develop, empower and advance young women through golf.

Life-changing opportunities such as these are available to active Youth on Course members. Thank you to our partners for continuing to support junior golfers and for helping us provide them with access on and off the course. Together we are making a difference!
