At Youth on Course, we believe that golf has the power to transform lives — but only when everyone has access to the game. That’s why we’re proud to continue our Advocates for Access video series, this time spotlighting the incredible work and passion of Roger Steele, a Youth on Course Ambassador who embodies what it means to give back.
In this second feature of the series, Roger invites us into his journey with the Youth on Course 100 Hole Hike — a challenge that blends endurance, purpose, and community to fuel affordable access for youth golfers. The series includes one feature video and four inspiring episodes, each highlighting a different part of Roger’s story and the broader impact of this movement.
🎥 Feature: Roger Plays 100 Holes to Provide Youth Access to Golf
In the feature video, Roger reflects on what it means to take on the Youth on Course 100 Hole Hike — a commitment he’s now made four times, including on full-length 18-hole courses. His message is simple but powerful: when we gather for a cause, we can build stronger communities and open doors for future generations. Roger encourages everyone to join the mission and help make golf more accessible for all.
⛳ Episode 1: Change Takes Elevated Effort
Roger sees the Youth on Course 100 Hole Hike as more than a physical challenge — it’s a metaphor for the kind of dedication it takes to drive real change. “If you want to bring change, it’s going to take an elevated effort,” he says. His words remind us that creating meaningful progress for young golfers requires all of us to step up.
🌴 Episode 2: The Power of the LA Golf Community
Roger shares what makes participating in the Youth on Course 100 Hole Hike in Los Angeles so special. In 2024, over 30 friends and supporters joined him, showing how golf can bring people together around a shared purpose. It’s a testament to the strength of community and the collective impact we can have when we unite behind a cause.
🙌 Episode 3: Give Back to Give Access
Roger challenges golfers everywhere to join the Youth on Course 100 Hole Hike and discover a deeper appreciation for the game. More than just a test of endurance, Hiking 100 holes is a way to show your commitment to building a future where every kid has the chance to play.
💯 Episode 4: What This Game Can Do
Roger reflects on the example set by Bruce Baker, a fellow Youth on Course 100 Hole HIker he calls “the poster for what this game can do and what it should be about.” Bruce’s dedication, both financially and with his time, shows how powerful golf can be when it’s used as a force for good.
