This summer, Youth on Course members reached 1 million rounds played, marking the earliest this milestone has been reached in a single year. And behind that number are hundreds of thousands of young golfers, thousands of course partners and a growing network of supporters working together to make golf more accessible.

The round was played on July 28 at Hyland Greens Golf Course in Bloomington, Minnesota. Hyland Greens Golf Course has been part of the Youth on Course network since 2021, facilitating over 28,000 rounds to date and helping make golf more accessible to young people in the Twin Cities.

“Getting kids exercising, outside and off screens is a major part of our mission at Three Rivers. Youth on Course helps us fulfill that mission by breaking down the financial barrier that makes golf inaccessible for some kids. It’s a great partnership, it’s growing the game, and we’re very pleased that Youth on Course’s one millionth round was at Hyland Greens Golf Course. We’re honored to be a part of such an important milestone.” - Mark Hill, Golf Operations Supervisor
The milestone also highlights the impact of Youth on Course’s partnerships across the golf community. Since Youth on Course expanded to Minnesota in August 2017, members across the state have played more than 271,000 rounds. The Minnesota Golf Association has helped support access and opportunities for young golfers across the state, connecting more young people with the game and the courses that make those experiences possible.
The millionth round being played at Hyland Greens is a meaningful reflection of that continued growth and partnership in Minnesota.

“Hyland Greens is a special place for me. It’s where I grew up playing golf, learned to love the game, and made some of my earliest memories on a golf course. To now see the one millionth Youth on Course round of the year played there is incredibly meaningful. It’s a great example of how golf can shape a young person’s life, and how giving kids access to the game can create opportunities and memories that stay with them for a lifetime.” - Jon Mays, Executive Director and COO, Minnesota Golf Association
Youth on Course began with a simple idea: cost shouldn’t stand between a young person and a round of golf. Twenty years later, 450,000 members in 3 countries have played 6 million rounds for $5 or less. 1 million rounds in just 6 months.
Every round is a chance for a young person to experience the game and discover what’s possible on the course.
