Tai Moran
Regional Development OfficerTai’s 20 + year history in golf administration and development was heavily influenced by his early childhood experiences on the course. Hermann Park Golf Course in Houston, Texas, was the first golf course he ever played, and it’s where he found community and fell in love with the game.
Alongside his older brother, Jason, he quickly began building friendships with fellow juniors and forged what have become lifelong family and business relationships. They felt safe and cared for by the adults who made Hermann Park home and ensured their parents felt the same as they dropped them off daily. It meant everything to them then, realizing now how different their lives would have been if that sense of care were not present.
Tai continued to play golf and Captain his high school and collegiate (Texas Southern University) teams. He eventually went on to have the opportunity to run a nine-hole golf course and practice facility in Houston that was designed specifically for youth. Alongside childhood friends he met through golf, it also allowed them to establish an environment rooted in community, where young people and their families experienced life and growth alongside one another. These themes have continued to guide him in his roles as the Executive Director at The First Tee of Greater Houston, Director of Regional Affairs for the Central Plains and Mountain Regions with First Tee, Vice President of Development at RAICES, and now as Regional Development Officer with Youth on Course.
Tai serves Youth on Course in a hybrid role, inspiring meaningful philanthropy through the organization and nurturing relationships with allied golf associations, junior golf programs, and golf facilities to ensure young people can play and foster relationships — much like his experience at Hermann Park.
