Golf didn’t always feel accessible — not to everyone. But Youth on Course is rewriting that narrative, making rounds playable for just $5 or less and transforming access to the game.
In this chapter of Advocates for Access, Youth on Course Ambassador Tisha Alyn steps up to the tee — not just as a professional golfer and creator, but as someone who knows firsthand what opportunity can mean. Back in high school, she was just a teenager hustling for a chance to play. Youth on Course wasn’t just a membership — it was her springboard.
Now, Tisha is paying it forward. Fueled by passion and purpose, she’s helping pave a fairer path for the next generation — one story, one swing, one kid at a time.
From Dreamer to Leader: Redefining Who Belongs in Golf
Tisha Alyn began her golf journey at the age of three, introduced to the game by her father. She quickly developed her skills and, within a few short years, was not only competing with him but consistently winning by the age of seven. Recognizing her talent and the need for additional opportunities, her father signed her up for Youth on Course, and gained access to more play, honed her abilities and elevated her game.
At the time, Tisha’s opportunities to compete only existed in the form of playing with the boys, as girls’ divisions were not widely available. Determined to change that, she helped establish the girls’ division of the Illinois Junior Golf Association—a program that continues to thrive today.
While Tisha initially pursued a career in competitive golf, she soon realized her true calling was beyond tournament victories. Her passion lies in inspiring others to experience the game and its transformative impact, particularly young girls. Today, she uses her platform to make golf more approachable, inclusive, and—most importantly—accessible to all.
Each episode of this Advocates for Access series dives deeper into Tisha Alyn’s story and why she so strongly believes in Youth on Course and the power of golf on a young life.
