How do I report a safety concern or abuse at to a Youth on Course facility?

If you are a junior member or a guardian, report any incident of maltreatment, abuse, harassment, bullying, or other misconduct connected to a Youth on Course partner facility through our SafeZone resources.

Overview

Youth on Course is committed to a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment. SafeZone is a confidential, welcoming resource that helps participants, leadership, and club representatives navigate concerns, conflicts, and the complaint process. You can ask questions, share experiences, and receive guidance on issues such as harassment, bullying, abuse, or other forms of maltreatment—without judgment and without being required to file a complaint.

Who This Is For

Participants (junior members & guardians)

SafeZone can help you understand your options before deciding to file a complaint, including:

  • What steps might you take to resolve a conflict informally?

  • What Youth on Course’s complaint process looks like.

  • Whether an issue should be handled by a club or by Youth on Course.

If you’re unsure what to do next, reach out to SafeZone to share your concerns, explore options, and gain clarity.

Club/Facility Representatives

Club administrators play a critical role in safe sport. SafeZone can assist with:

  • Understanding Youth on Course’s jurisdiction and when to escalate issues.

  • Navigating complex discipline considerations and decision-making.

  • Interpreting policies and processes to align with Youth on Course expectations.

What SafeZone Offers

  • A confidential, non-judgmental space to share concerns and ask questions.

  • Emotional support and a chance to talk through challenges you experienced or witnessed.

  • Guidance on options and help in understanding possible next steps.

  • Information on Youth on Course complaint processes, jurisdiction, and additional resources.

Reaching out to SafeZone does not mean you are filing a formal complaint. Conversations remain confidential unless you choose to take further action.

How to Use These Resources

  1. Ensure immediate safety
    If anyone is in immediate danger, call 911 (or your local emergency number) first.

  2. Get confidential guidance (SafeZone)
    Email safezone@itpsport.ca to share concerns, ask questions, and understand your options.

  3. File a formal complaint (optional)
    When you’re ready—or if your situation requires formal review—submit through the Youth on Course complaints portal:

  4. For club/facility staff

    • Post SafeZone contact and the complaints portal where juniors and families can see it (shop counter, starter area, website).

    • If someone discloses a concern, ensure safety, avoid judgment, and direct them to safezone@itpsport.ca and/or the complaints portal.

    • Cooperate with any follow-up from Youth on Course.

  • Write down what you remember as soon as possible; keep any relevant messages or screenshots.

  • No retaliation: Retaliation for reporting concerns or seeking guidance is not tolerated.
