How do course operators know if juniors are Youth on Course members when they check in for a tee time?
Course operators can verify a member’s status by searching their Youth on Course member number or GHIN/handicap number in the Clubhouse.
Members should be prepared to show their digital membership card when checking in for a tee time. Course operators can also verify a golfer’s membership status by searching for the member in the Clubhouse.
When searching in the Clubhouse, course operators should use the golfer’s Youth on Course member number or GHIN/handicap number. Youth on Course member numbers begin with a lowercase y and are case-sensitive.
Once the member is found, their status will appear in the Clubhouse. Common statuses include:
- Active: The golfer has an active Youth on Course membership.
- Expired: The golfer’s Youth on Course membership has expired.
- Temporarily Paused: The golfer’s membership is temporarily paused and may need follow-up before their next round.
Course partners are allowed to log and redeem subsidies for up to 2 rounds on an expired membership. This helps keep courses compensated while gently reminding golfers to renew.
Temporarily paused members may receive a more extended grace period, as long as the pause is not related to a failed Age Verification attempt or a severe behavioral incident. Most often, temporarily paused members have simply missed a required step, such as Age Verification. In these cases, course operators are encouraged to gently remind the member to contact membersupport@youthoncourse.org to resolve any membership issues before their next round.
If a golfer does not appear in Clubhouse search results, they may have aged out of the program. Members who have aged out are no longer eligible for Youth on Course benefits and cannot be logged for subsidy reimbursement.
