(PEBBLE BEACH, CA) – Youth on Course — the non-profit organization dedicated to opening doors, supporting dreams and transforming the lives of young people through opportunities on and off the golf course – has partnered with the Louisiana Golf Association (LGA) to deliver affordable and accessible golf and personal growth opportunities to the young people across Louisiana.
“Golf has seen a significant surge across the country this year and we’re continuing to expand our reach to give young people new opportunities through the game as shown with this new partnership,” says Michael Lowe, vice president of programs for Youth on Course. “The LGA is committed to growing the game and our partnership will help open the doors to juniors who may not have had access to the game of golf otherwise.”
“The program provides opportunities for junior golfers to deepen their love for the game and, in doing so, creates lifelong golfers,” says Logan Ray, LGA Executive Director. “Youth on Course has proven its ability to positively affect lives and we are eager to introduce it in Louisiana. This initiative aligns with our mission to promote junior golf in Louisiana and to do so in an affordable manner, for the health of the game.”
Courses across the state of Louisiana will now have the opportunity to join Youth on Course’s efforts in providing affordable access to golf by signing on as a participating YOC facility. Participating courses offer rates of $5 or less at designated times for Youth on Course members and receive subsidies for each round played. Courses interested in signing on can complete an online interest form here: https://youthoncourse.org/courses/course-interest-form/
Born out of the Northern California Golf Association in 2006, more than 100,000 members have played more than one million rounds of golf. Fueling the golf industry, Youth on Course subsidizes rounds for members and puts money back into allied golf associations and individual courses. The organization’s structure helps golf courses fill typically unused tee times and garner additional revenue with more than 40% of members playing with paying adults. The amount reimbursed back to participating courses has almost doubled in the past year, reaching close to $2.8 million this year alone and totaling nearly $8 million dating back to 2005.
