Max has completed his 100 Hole Hike! He absolutely crushed it.
Current fundraising status: $6,353 of his $10,000 goal.
The 100 Hole Hike is one of golf's most extreme charitable challenges putting golfers to the test as they take on the task of playing 100 holes in one day to raise money and awareness for Youth on Course - yep, you read that right 100 holes!
This year, Youth on Course member Max Manion had the unique opportunity to participate thanks in part to an unexpected day off from school. His Dad originally signed up, but work obligations created a conflict in his schedule, so Max bravely stepped in to take his place.
Max and his family are no strangers to braving physical challenges however and have even taken on the Tough Mudder by one another's side. Max's motivation to participate in the 100 Hole Hike was not only for a new challenge and bragging rights, but as a way to give back to the organization that he and his family say have been a game-changer in their lives.
Max credits being able to enjoy more of the sport he loves to play alongside his friends, and an outlet for challenging himself outside of school. He's also been able to take pride in being able to pay his own way, saving the money he earns babysitting to spend on each of his $5 rounds at YOC courses.
Now that Max has decided to take on the 100 Hole Hike in place of his dad, fundraising has become a family affair. His parents are helping solicit donations through friends and family, they've gotten creative about local outreach, and Max's younger brother is serving as his "Social Media Manager" sharing updates on a special Instagram account titled @max_100_hole_hike for supporters to follow along!

"I am honored and excited to be raising money for Youth On Course through its 100 Hole Hike. Youth on Course has had a big impact on my life as well as many other kids learning the game. I was able to play golf when I otherwise wouldn’t have been able to. This opportunity has changed my life. Today, golf is my passion and my life and I am lucky to be able to play for St. Francis High School’s team."
